Abstract

ABSTRACT Theoretically there are several factors that can affect HR performance, including motivation, discipline, ability, training, skills, social security, compensation, work environment, production facilities, technology and opportunities for achievement (Sudarmayanti, 2001), in several factors that affect performance these are motivation, competence and performance. In this study, using a descriptive analysis method and also examining the relationship between variables (causal design) with the aim to explain how motivation and competence can affect the performance of employees of the Poly Urethane Division IY Bottom PT.Pou Chen Indonesia. Based on the results of the study there is a fairly strong relationship to the motivation and competence variables with employee performance. that is, a significant value for the motivation and competence variables is 0,000 <0.05 then Hₒ is rejected or Hₐ is accepted. Simultaneous test with F-test obtained an F count of 31,990 and with a probability of 0,000. Probabilities are much smaller (<) than 0.05, then the regression model can be used to predict performance. The output shows a p-value of 0,000 <0.05 which means that it is significant in this case, Hₒ is rejected or Hₐ is accepted. Keywords: Motivation, competence and performance.
